Nelly Leiva, age 13, a very intelligent student, was brought in as an infant neglected and undernourished. Her mother had abandoned her and her sister Avis. Nellie is in the ninth grade this year and is one of the youngest in her class. She is very bright and excels at athletics. She has a special love for animals and enjoys climbing trees.
